Her name is..........

Britan Rae! Sounds like (Great) Britain! I have been guarded about her name because we have told people that ask and we have had mixed reactions....weird looks....awkward silence, which tells me that its definitely a different name and that is EXACTLY what were going for. Of course her big brother and daddy have the initials BRD, so we wanted to stick with the theme. And as for those who wonder why not my initials well we have reasons for that too....1st of all if I used my middle name then my initials would be ADD and with the profession I am in, I don't care for her to have those initials, granted if she ends up with ADD (like me) then we will deal with that, but I would rather not give her a head start. Then if I use my maiden name in the middle it would be ACD, which when I say it I automatically think ACDC! So no to that too! I have realized that when I search the name it is mostly for a boy, but we would not have named a boy this only because when I hear Brit with An at t...

~HELPLESS~

Sunday I had already prepared myself for an exhausting week ahead...that contained a 12 hour workday Monday, 2 doctor's appointments, soccer practice/games, and many things to accomplish at work....but the silver linings of the week would be Wednesday when we get to see the baby again and Thursday when we meet my NH mother-in-law for dinner at the Melting Pot, so there are EXCITING things coming.........BUT I had no idea that Monday would turn out crazier than I expected! I worked till right at 7 last night and Brooks and Bryson went to work on a fish tank, so we ended up getting home within minutes of one another to find that....there was NO POWER! We had a massive storm as most of you know, but I had no clue what we were in store for with the night ahead. When I pulled onto our road it was PITCH dark and it appeared that my bright lights weren't doing a very good job, so then I pull into the driveway mashing the garage door opener 100 times, until my light bulb came on and ...

Overwhelmed by LOVE and PINK!

What a fantastic day, I must say!!!!!! We found out today that our sweet baby is indeed a girl and already a spoiled one at that! I really have no time to be writing considering the BIG Birthday party is tomorrow, but I feel the need to share our day before the chaos sets in! So yesterday was 16 weeks, which is the earliest that they will do an ultrasound to determine the definite sex, so of course being the person I am WE HAD TO DO IT TODAY! I was very anxious because I had this feeling it was a boy and my mom told me last weekend that I looked like it was a boy, but every night this week I have had dreams of a girl. So I was very unsure of what today would hold and believe me when I say if it was a boy he would have been as loved as this baby girl! The day was planned to a tee because you know me...there must be a schedule in place for everything! 9:00 am baby time, take Bryson to school, pick up a few party things, have Bryson a party at school, and then Bryson had a ...

Love Week

As most know Valentine week is not about roses and chocolates at the Derting's its about a boy who decided to enter the world a WHOLE month early to SURPRISE his parents for Valentine's. This is one of the most exciting weeks of the year for me, not because I have a hot date tomorrow night, but because I have a boy who will be 5 and a birthday party to pull off. So we started the week off as we always do by spending the weekend at the beach with Gays, shopping for party food, party outfits and by eating the best Japanese food in SC! Bryson ALWAYS picks Japanese for his birthday dinner, so we will have it again Tuesday night except this time it will be Kobes with Paw-Paw.   Tomorrow is LOVE day as many of you are aware and I have to go to a workshop. I am a little sad to not be at school to celebrate V Day with my kids, but I hope to make it to Bryson's Valentine's party at his school. Then I think I shall go to the Y tomorrow afternoon and work off some of the food I i...

The Week's Review....

Another week has come and leaving quickly! The weekend was beautiful and we spent lots of time in the sunshine and warm air playing with the dogs and doing some much needed yard clean up from the bitter winter, that I hope is gone! It seems like it has been a very busy week with something needing attention everyday..... We did work in a swim Monday night and the water felt great...however showering and getting dressed in the FREEZING locker room, NOT SO GREAT. Tuesday we got to see the baby AGAIN :) "It" (for now) was moving and waving happily at us! Everything looked good and fingers crossed and prayers requested my blood work is the same way. We have decided (pretty much I decided) that we will be going to Watch Me Grow on Friday, the 18th to find out what the baby is...mostly because I can't wait much longer nor do I want the child to have a complex if its a girl because Brooks and Bryson only call it a he! Very excited to see what our family will be completed with...

Feeling....................WONDERFULLY Productive!!!!

I am very happy to say that the LONGEST month of the year is coming to a close (RIP January 2011). January feels like it has taken 13 months to pass and I couldn't be happier to see it come to an end on Tuesday morning! I have to say that this week has been very productive and I have learned many new things this week...... Most importantly I have learned (reiterated mostly) that life can change quickly, in an instance, in the blink of an eye....I learned of the passing of someone very close to my age which makes me realize just because I am not 80 yet, tomorrow is not guaranteed. I learned of a friends unfortunate misdiagnosis that has her patiently waiting for surgery to remove the foreign object that has settled in her body. I also, saw a random act of kindness this week that will not be forgotten anytime soon. I witnessed a young man in his late teens (I am guessing) pay it forward to a lady in front of him in line at the grocery store...now this may not be that uncommon, but ...

So it's Wednesday!

Why is it that every time there is a holiday or it's a four day work week for some reason...the week takes 1500 times longer than a normal week??? It has been a crazy 2 days, but the week is almost over and then we can begin our whirlwind of no free weekends till March (YAY)!!! Things to do...makes me HAPPY! So tomorrow is 12 weeks :) I am still struggling a little bit talking about it..because there is still a little fear there that something could happen...I wish my mind would settle and the thoughts would go away, but I guess everything will calm when the baby is here....although that seems like a LONG ways a way right now! So I am pondering a 5k this weekend...thoughts on this please!!!! I have been running (jogging) a little and I know that IF I decide to this that I will probably be last because I know that I don't want to push myself to the limit. I feel good when I am running, I just haven't gotten to 3 miles, so I wonder how well I would do. This is the run that ...
